Nurses prescribing CDs by next month?
Nurses could be prescribing controlled drugs as early as next month according to a recent article published on the healthcarerepublic website.
The General Practitioners Committee are warning that nurses could be seen as a "cheaper alternative to doctors". Nurses can currently only prescribe 12 controlled drugs and the deputy GPC chairman has said that the important thing is that nurses do not feel out of their depth or pressured to prescribe "outside of their experience or training".
